Governor Colyer Signs Three Bills into Law

TOPEKA – Kansas Governor Jeff Colyer, M.D. signed the following bills into law on April 18:

  • House Bill 2444: Brings Kansas into alignment with Federal law and Trump administration policy regarding companies with business operations in Sudan.
  • House Bill 2482: Prohibits the State of Kansas from entering into contracts with companies currently engaged in a boycott of Israel.
  • House Bill 2597: Designates Sedgwick County an “urban area” for purposes of lawmaking.

The Governor has now signed 60 bills into law this session. By law, the Kansas governor has 10 calendar days to sign bills into law, veto bills or allow bills to become law without his signature.
