Area youth compete at Sunflower State Games

Northwest Kansas was well represented by five local youth this past weekend at Hummer Sports Park in Topeka, KS.

Logan White, Grayci White, Madison Brackney, Jessica Jackson and Tanner Hupfer competed at the Sunflower State Games. During this two day track and field event, most of these youth set new personal records and brought back medals.

Logan White competed in the 100m dash placing 6th with a time of 12.67, 200m dash placing 2nd with a time of 24.98, 400m dash placing 1st with a time of 55.95 and long jump with a distance of 18’ 6 3/4”.

Grayci White competed in the 100m dash placing 3rd with a time of 16.08, 200m dash placing 3rd with a time of 32.77 and long jump placing 2nd with a distance of 11’ 2 1/4”.

Madison Brackney competed in the 100m dash placing 4th with a time of 14.19, 200m dash placing 6th with a time of 29.93, 400m dash placing 1st with a time of 67.95 and triple jump placing 1st with a distance of 28’ 8”.

Jessica Jackson competed in the 100m dash placing 10th with a time of 14.14 and the 100m hurdles placing 3rd with a time of 17.86.

Tanner Hupfer competed in the 100m dash placing 10th with a time of 13.47, 200m dash placing 8th with a time of 26.72 and the 400m dash placing 5th with a time of 61.06.

After all of the individual events, these fine athletes weren’t done yet. They also competed in the 4x100 Fun Run Relay. Grayci White ran with her team, The Beloit Flyers. Jessica Jackson, Tanner Hupfer, Madison Brackney and Logan White (JTML All-Stars) put together a relay just before the event and placed 4th overall.
