Phillipsburg High School FCCLA attends District B FCCLA Fall Leadership Conference

[Stockton, KS]--FCCLA members from Central Plains, Hoisington, Victoria, Ellis, Plainville, Stockton, Phillipsburg, Smith Center, Lakeside and Osborne got “Twisted Up with FCCLA” on October 3rd, 2018 at Stockton High School for the District B FCCLA Fall Leadership Conference. Local members attending were Melissa Conn, Tara Conn, Nick Davis, Joel Ford, Olivia Hueneke, Nikole Huntley, Darbi Spiess, Annie Weishaar, along with Chapter Advisor, Deb Weishaar.

Approximately 180 District B members heard from the Kansas FCCLA Peer Ed Teams: Community Service in which they made a bag to bring back to the community. Also the Peer Ed team of Financial Fitness presented the FCCLA’s Wheel of Fortune”. The State President, Talyn McKenzie also presented her workshop on Investigating STAR Events.

Chapter members were recognized for their participation in national STAR events, completion of Power of Ones and for contributions to their chapters. Annie Weishaar was recognized for her 4thplace finish at National Leadership Convention this summer in Atlanta, GA.

Richard Holmgren, presented the Flying Debris show--full of juggling and stunts and inspired students to get active and go for their goals.

Melissa Conn received the District B special Recognition award and Phillipsburg FCCLA received the Active Chapter Award from Kansas FCCLA.

Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) is a dynamic and effective national student organization that helps young men and women become leaders and address important personal, family, work, and societal issues through Family and Consumer Sciences education.
