PCCF Distributes Community Grant Funds

Phillips County Community Foundation recently distributed funds to recipients of the fall round of Community Grants. Eight non-profits from across Phillips County were awarded a total of $45,963 to fund all or part of a project. The Dane G. Hansen Foundation established the Community Grants program in 26 counties in Northwest Kansas to benefit local groups needing funds for special projects. Twice a year, $50,000 is available to non-profits, churches, and governmental entities. In Phillips County, the Community Foundation administers the program, and PCCF Board members determine approval and level of funding. Fall 2018 grants will fund all or part of the projects listed:

CASA of the 17th Judicial District: expenses for the 2019 CASA Chocolate Auction fundraiser

Phillipsburg Soccer Club: soccer equipment for all age ranges of club members

Logan Youth Center: renovations and upgrades to the downtown meeting facility

Logan Manor Community Health: a van to transport Logan Manor residents

Pleasant View Cemetery: an information board to assist in grave locations and family plots

Phillipsburg City Library: an outdoor digital sign

Phillipsburg Western Heritage Foundation: mowing equipment for the rodeo grounds

Thunder Ridge Middle School: instruments for classroom instruction on guitar and ukulele

Morris Engle, Executive Director of PCCF, says, “Through the Community Grants Program, the Dane G. Hansen Trustees make it possible for non-profits in Phillips County to have the funds necessary to undertake a bigger project and accomplish great things!”

The spring round of grants will be open from April 1 to June 1st. Engle encourages non-profits working on a project to pursue funding through the Community Grant program. The online application will be available on the PCCF website phillipscountycommunityfoundation.org beginning April 1st .
