The Hansen Museum’s 50th Annual Arts and Crafts Fair artisan lineup includes the following talented artists: illustrator-Julie Peterson-Shea, chainsaw artist-Blair Smith, basket weaver-Marsha Jensen, quilter-Janie Lowry, airbrush face painters, black smith-Brian Bethke, fast draw shooting with the Deer Creek Regulators, and potter-Rodney Zimmerman. All these incredible artists will spend Saturday, August 17th demonstrating their skills at different stations around the Hansen Museum during the Arts and Crafts Fair.

Chainsaw artist extraordinaire, Blair Smith will entertain men and women alike carving one full size sculpture at 10:00 a.m. at the service station across from the Museum. After carving the full size sculpture, Blair will move to a shady spot on the Museum lawn to do smaller carvings and visit with folks. Blair will bring with him completed full-size carvings so the Museum will still give two sculptures away during the Arts and Crafts Fair. Inflatable fun this year includes an obstacle course, a T-Rex jumper, and an archery competition. Fast draw shooting with the Deer Creek Regulators will be available on the south side of the Museum. Live music throughout the day provides the best background for shopping. The incredibly talented group Formerly Three will be on the south stage. Playing music from several eras and genres. These fellows are definitely crowd pleasers! New to the Arts and Crafts Fair, 80 Proof Alice will entertain from the north stage performing toe-tapping blue grass music. This fabulous trio was highly recommended by many sources. No matter your taste in music, we are certain everyone will have a finger snapping good time. Bring the whole family to the Arts and Crafts – there is something fun for everyone.

This year is our 50th Arts and Crafts Fair! In celebration of fifty fun-filled years, the Museum Board will be serving homemade ice cream and sugar cookies in front of the Community Room at 12:30 p.m. Please make sure to stop by for a sweet treat.

After much anticipation, Da Vinci The Exhibition is on view inside the Museum. Da Vinci best known for his paintings—especially Mona Lisa and The Last Supper, but as a true Renaissance man, he was also a sculptor, architect, scientist, and, as this exhibit proves, an inventor. On display are recreations of da Vinci’s robotics, weapons of war, mechanical devices, and more. Plan to be amazed at da Vinci’s prowess in multiple disciplines.
