In a hard-fought battle from the opening kickoff to the last second on the clock the Logan-Palco Trojans and Lakeside Knights put on quite a show for the Logan crowd on Friday, Sept. 20. When one team scored, the other answered, and neither team could score the extra points after their touchdowns. Finally, late in the game, the Knights punched in the PAT putting them up 36-38. The Trojans came back with a touchdown, and the score was 42-38.

The Knights drove down the field, but the tough Trojan defense stopped them with about 2 minutes on the clock. The Trojans headed down the field and with a crucial 4th down and 11, senior Rhett Kats connected with senior Caleb Sparks for a 30-yard play and sealed the win for the Trojans.

Senior Mayson Vahling and Kats both scored two rushing touchdowns with junior Carson Knipp adding another. Vahling and junior Case Ashmore each added touchdown passes to the scoreboard.

Defensively, Kats led in tackles with 13 and freshman Brennan Loyd-Counter added 12. Caleb Sparks and Tye West each added 9. Kaden Graham tallied two quarterback sacks, and West added one.

The Trojans will play in Palco next Friday, Sept. 27 as they host Wheatland-Grinnell in the Palco Homecoming game at 7:00 pm. The parade will begin at 2:30.
