PHILLIPSBURG MUSICIANS SELECTED FOR NW KMEA HONOR ENSEMBLES

The NW District of KMEA has announced students who have been selected to perform with the District Junior High Honor Choir and Band.

Those auditioning for the band submitted a digital recording of required music which was then judged. Chosen for the band: Julia Walker, clarinet; Paige Ehm, alto saxophone; Sandro Beim, trumpet; Hendrix Jarvis, trombone; Wyatt Terry, tuba and Autumn Hueneke, percussion.

Choral students selected to perform in the choir are Trey Reidel, Alivia Hopson, Adelyn Hamons, Neelee Taylor, Jade Carver, Mesh Russom, Blake Rothe, Emerson Grote and James Pools.

Selected to perform with the District High School Honor Jazz Band are Aidrian Hassel and Skyla Russell, both on trombone.

The jazz band auditions were also submitted as a digital recording of required music which was then judged.

Megan Krom is the vocal instructor and Vesta Jo Still is the band instructor.

The students will attend an all day rehearsal on Nov. 2 at Hays High School. The concert will begin at 3:30 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults and students are free.
