Panthers earn tough road win against Russell

On Friday, January 10, the Lady Panthers traveled to Russell to face off against the Broncos, and they delivered an impressive performance with two clean sweeps. The junior varsity won 17-14 in three quarters, and the varsity’s score was 45-37.

Sophomore Ryleigh Seems led the offensive charge with 14 points, followed by senior Brynn Billings, who contributed 8 points. The Lady Panthers showcased excellent teamwork, recording 12 assists. Senior Kayla Jacobs led in this category with three assists, while juniors Chloe VanDeerVeen and Natalie Fischer, along with Seems, each added two.

The Lady Panthers were relentless on defense, tallying 14 steals. Fischer and Jacobs led the team with three steals apiece, keeping the Broncos under pressure throughout the game.

The Lady Panthers dominated the boards, grabbing 27 rebounds. Seems had a standout performance with 12 rebounds, and Billings followed with six.

Although the junior varsity game was limited to three quarters, the Lady Panthers emerged victorious, winning 17-14. Freshman Emalee Russell led the scoring effort with 10 points. The JV team’s defense shone with 15 steals. Freshman Tessa Ragsdale was a standout, collecting six steals, while sophomore Brooke Hanchett contributed three. The Lady Panthers hauled in 19 rebounds in total, with sophomore Chloe Jacobs leading with five. Junior Natalie Fischer, sophomore Kalinda Meili, and Ragsdale each added three rebounds to the team’s tally.
