Logan JH finishes up regular season and prepares for WKLL tournament

The Junior Trojans started the week off at home on Monday, Jan. 27 with games against Golden Plains.

In two quarters of the B-team girls, Greysen Becker scored both buckets in the 4-6 loss.

The A-team girls hung with the Bulldogs until the end and suffered the close 18-22 loss. Sixth grader Harper Delimont led the charge with 6 points, followed by Shiloh Kuhn, Brecken Shellito and Anslee Traxler each with 4.

On the boys' side, the B-teamers won 14-6 in 2 quarters with Keegan Breese, Bryson Bolt, and Kayne Karlin each with 4 points.

Eighth grader Jeffrey Bliss shot lights out in the A-team contest with a season high of 19 as they handled the Bulldogs easily and won 41-18. Seventh graders Gunnar Ashmore and Tobin Kats added 6 points each.

On Thursday, Jan. 30, the Junior Trojans hosted Western Plains at Damar for their last regular season game.

Both boys teams took home the wins. In 2 quarters of B-team action, the Trojans outscored the Bobcats 16-9 as Bolt led with 4 points, and Breese added 3.

In the 37-20 A-team victory, the hot-handed Bliss scored in double-digits again with 18. Henry States and John Sparks added 6 each.

The girls B-team took the 9-5 win with a great effort by the whole team. Coach Kim Ellenberger felt this was a great way to finish their season, and she is very proud of their growth this year. The A-team girls faced a tough Bobcat team and lost 22-30. They are hoping to see them again in the League tournament.

Next action for the Junior Trojans will take place in Colby on Thursday, Feb. 13 as they take part in the WKLL tournament. The final games will be played in Brewster on Saturday, Feb. 15. Keep checking the Logan school website for game day information.
