Logan-Palco prepares for league tournament

On Tuesday night's match-up, Logan-Palco hosted Rawlins County in the LIFE gym.
It was a close JV girls game until the very end when the Lady Trojans couldn't stop the last Buffalo shots and lost 24-29. Sophomore Breyer Delimont scored 9, and freshman Jayla Traxler scored 6.
The JV boys put on the show of the night as they took the Buffaloes into overtime. With the crowd behind them, the Trojans were able to hold on for the 48-45 win. Freshman Jasper States found the bucket for 10 points, including 2 shots behind the arc. Taden Gottschalk and Stanley DeWitt also added 10 points each.
The varsity girls hung with the Buffalos until late in the second quarter when the Buffs widened their lead to 9 points. The Buffs came out shootin' after halftime scoring 25 points against the Trojan defense and won 65-35. Breyer Delimont scored on 11 of 15 field goals and shot 5 of 5 from the charity stripe for 19 points. Hailey McClurg added 8 points and 4 steals, while Lylah Voss brought down 8 boards.
In the final game of the night, the Trojans were ready to play and jumped to the quick 21-11 in the 1st quarter. Senior Ryan Prewo scored 9 points and added 6 assists. Kaden Graham and Ethan Gaschler each added 8 points. Rhett Kats scored 32 in the 64-40 win.
On Friday, Jan. 31, the Trojans traveled to Rexford to play Golden Plains.
With the team playing well offensively and defensively, Emma Traxler and Jayla Traxler each scored 6 points in the B-team contest and won with a score of 20-3. The varsity girls found themselves in another tight game as the decision came down to the last minutes of the game when the Bulldogs were able to put up the shots when they needed them most, edging the Trojans 27-33. Delimont scored 9 and McClurg 7.
Thanks to Easton Gottschalk who scored 15 points on 5 3-point shots, the JV boys rolled over the Bulldogs 47-17. Carson Knipp also scored in double-digits with 12. The varsity boys followed suit as they put up 73 points versus 23 for the Bulldogs. Three Trojans scored in double-digits with Case Ashmore scoring 12, Caleb Sparks 16 and Rhett Kats 32 with 14 rebounds.
