Battle of the unbeaten teams comes to Phillipsburg

On Thursday, Oct. 10, the Phillipsburg Junior High football team hosted the Norton Bluejays at home. Both football teams were undefeated going into the game. The Panthers fought hard against the Bluejays but came up short losing 8-16.

Offensively, QB Kolton Wilkison had one touchdown on the night, along with 30 rushing yards and 44 passing yards. Colby Myers had the most rushing yards on the night with 44 yards. The Panthers had a total of 101 rushing yards and only one touchdown. Seventh grader Jack Seems had two catches on the night for a total of 44 receiving yards.

Leading the Panther defense this week was Lane Gower who had four tackles on the night, stopping the Blue Jays offense. Adding to the defense, Reid Pfortmiller had three tackles, and Chasen Shields, Colby Myers and Kolton Wilkison each had two.

The Panthers will conclude their season on Tuesday, Oct. 15 when they host the Oakley Plainsmen.
