The Logan School Auditorium was filled with excitement on Tuesday, February 11, as the Wichita Children’s Theatre brought Elephant & Piggie’s We Are in a Play! and School Daze to life.

In the morning, students from nine area schools packed the auditorium, their laughter echoing through the space as they watched their favorite book characters come to life on stage. The performance followed Gerald the elephant and Piggie as they discovered they were in a play, engaging the audience in a lively and interactive way. As the story unfolded, their mix of excitement and nervousness about being watched led to plenty of humor and heartfelt moments. The play celebrated friendship, spontaneity, and the joy of performing, making the young audience feel like part of the show.

The fun continued in the afternoon as area students and residents from Logan Manor enjoyed the high-energy production of School Daze. Filled with hilarious moments and valuable lessons about teamwork and education, the show kept the audience engaged from start to finish. The performers’ musical talents shone throughout the production as they seamlessly switched between multiple characters, making quick costume changes while keeping the crowd clapping and tapping their toes. A huge thank you to Wichita Children’s Theatre for bringing the magic of live theatre to our community!

The weekend also brought a creative opportunity to the Museum, where Sandy Seamone led a Mixed Media Painting Class. On Saturday, participants painted Old Barn & Silo, while Sunday’s class recreated Cardinal on a Dogwood Tree. Both sessions provided valuable learning opportunities for those looking to expand their painting skills. Known for her lighthearted and engaging teaching style, Sandy delivered a fun yet informative class, ensuring painters left with both a beautiful piece of art and new techniques to add to their skillset. We’re excited to welcome Sandy back in July for two more inspiring classes.

Currently on display in the gallery is the 48th Annual High School Art Show, a celebration of young talent from nine area schools. This year's show features a stunning collection of artwork in a variety of mediums, some remarkably unique. We invite you to witness the artistry of these young creators firsthand—prepare to be impressed by the exceptional creativity and skill on display.
