The Phillipsburg City Council met in a special meeting on June 5, 2024, 5:00 P.M, at 945 2nd Street, Phillipsburg, KS for the object and purpose of discussion on demolition bids.

PRESENT: Mayor Bret Miles, Councilmembers Brian Shrader; Terry McConnell; Jeannette Harris; Lauren Weinert; Mike James.

ABSENT: Don Roberts;

ALSO PRESENT: Jason Dibble; Scott Sage; Tim Driggs, City Administrator. The Pledge of Allegiance to the United States was led by Mayor Bret Miles.

Shrader discussed that he was approached by a contractor requesting to submit a bid for the structures to be removed. Discussion was held about rejecting bids until the asbestos inspections are completed. Driggs provided information from the register of deeds and resolutions signed by City Council. Documentation does indicate that the condemnation of structure was completed before transfer of the title to a different party. Sage indicated the City Council was still within their power to remove structures.

Motion by Shrader to reject all bids and have Driggs complete inspections of the structures and have rebid prepared for the next meeting. Harris seconded motion. Voting Aye: ALL. Opposed: NONE

Moved by Shrader, seconded by McConnell to adjourn- time. 5:22 pm. Voting Aye: ALL. Opposed: NONE.
